I SHAKE MY HEAD AT YOU NY!

Seriously New York, why??

Don't Close the Book on Libraries

Why are the first things cut always what benefits our future the most? Ahem, schools/education?

    2 reasons, Jen
    1) an educated populace is not in the best interests of career politicians (note I didn't say Leaders) Educated folks ask pointed questions, which is deadly to a Pol.

    2) After you live through a few more election/budget cycles, you'll recognize that the attempts to make cuts are always engineered to generate the most public outcry so that no (or few) cuts are actually made. Its a distraction game set up to make said pols look like they're doing something.

    Same as it ever was.
